"Tides of Creation" is a celestial tribute to life, motherhood, and the infinite cycles of creation. A pregnant mermaid floats peacefully in a bathtub suspended in the vastness of space, under the warm glow of a red supermoon. The star-filled night sky reflects the wonder and mystery of life itself, reminding us that we are all made of stardust, connected to the cosmos in ways both seen and unseen. The bathtub becomes a vessel of creation and nurturing—a sacred cradle of life surrounded by the infinite possibilities of the universe.
 
This piece is inspired by the profound strength and resilience of women and the nurturing power of water. The imagery recalls water births, chosen by many mothers-to-be for their gentle, life-giving embrace. It speaks to the timeless connection between water, life, and the feminine, as well as the sacred act of bringing new life into the world.
 
The luxurious materials—diamond dust, resin, faux pearls, and faux diamonds—enhance the ethereal quality of the painting, while the tropical fish swimming within the bathtub evoke vitality and my own childhood memories of the natural world. The mermaid’s shimmering tail and serene expression reflect both the quiet strength of motherhood and the awe-inspiring beauty of creation.
 
This painting also honours the challenges and sacrifices that often accompany motherhood. It pays tribute to women who have faced loss, anxiety, and the dangers of childbirth, while celebrating their courage and resilience. The pearls adorning the mermaid symbolise the sacred connection between the moon, water, and fertility, while the supermoon casts a glow of hope, wonder, and renewal.
