At its heart lies a water lily, symbolising the womb—a place of creation, renewal, and strength. Known for its ability to bloom in murky waters, the water lily reflects the beauty and fortitude of women, thriving even amidst life’s challenges. Layers of celestial imagery—planets and stars—surround the lily, evoking the infinite possibilities and universal connection within every woman’s journey.
 
The use of the palimpsest technique, with layers built up and partially obscured, represents the hidden depths of women’s stories. Embedded within the painting are secret written messages, inviting viewers to reflect and interpret their own narratives. These elements are intertwined with vintage wallpaper—a deeply personal nod to the artist’s memories and history—bridging the past with the present.

Yet, menstrual health is frequently dismissed or normalised by medical professionals, delaying critical diagnoses and treatment. This oversight perpetuates unnecessary suffering for many women, particularly those in the early stages of life. Through its layers, She Dreams sheds light on the urgent need for awareness, early diagnosis, and meaningful conversations about menstrual health.
 
The celestial elements within the piece offer a sense of wonder and hope, reminding us of the innate power women possess to endure, rise, and dream of better futures. She Dreams normalises the conversation around menstruation and women’s health while advocating for compassion, education, and change.
